Margaret Holmes was fortunate to participate in the annual Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) the week of Valentine’s Day, and we had a great time serving the fine folks in Charleston, SC our Seasoned Field Peas & Snaps, Five Can Vegetable Soup, and Simple Suppers in the Certified SC food tent!
SEWE is a three-day celebration of wildlife and nature through fine art, conservation education, sporting demonstrations, food, drink and the people who honor them all. The largest event of its kind in the U.S., SEWE receives more than 40,000 attendees each year.
We served samples along side our sister brands, Peanut Patch Boiled Peanuts and Glory Foods, in the South Carolina Department of Agriculture Certified SC food tent amid cooking demonstrations and additional food and drink vendors. And Amanda McNulty, host of Making it Grow, joined us to hand out samples and meet fans.
Our Simple Suppers Chili Fixins’ and Jambalaya Fixins’ were a huge hit. People couldn’t believe all we did was open a can! And, as always, the green and Cajun boiled peanuts drew the largest crowd. South Carolinians we met for the frist time were elated to learn that our products are manufactured in South Carolina.
